Sophie Pitre-Arseneault

Sophie brings decades of high-performance volleyball experience to East Coast Beach Volleyball. She played competitively for three years at Université de Moncton, serving as team captain for two of those seasons, and remains an active indoor and beach player.

My passion for beach volleyball drives everything I do as a coach. I believe the sport develops more than athletic ability—it builds confidence, resilience, communication, and accountability. I’m committed to creating a positive, challenging environment where athletes can grow, compete, and discover a lifelong love for the game while becoming their best both on and off the court.

On the coaching side, Sophie has led Beach Volleyball programming for East Coast Beach Volleyball since 2022, and most recently headed the Volleyball Nova Scotia Navy Beach Volleyball Program. She also coaches at the club and high school level, currently in her ninth season with the Bedford Blizzard Volleyball Club and her third year as Head Coach of the École Sommet High School girls’ team — with a Nova Scotia Tier 1 Championship among her recent results.

Off the sand, Sophie holds a Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University and a BSc in Nutrition from Université de Moncton, and works as Manager of Indigenous Relations & Partnerships with the Canadian Coast Guard, Atlantic Region. That same blend of discipline, people-first leadership, and community focus shapes how she coaches — building strong fundamentals while helping athletes grow as competitors and teammates.
